ABOUT

ABOUT

Real-time neuromonitoring helps protect your nervous system during surgery, providing critical data to support surgical precision and safety.

Signal Neuro specializes in intraoperative neuromonitoring or intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM), which encompasses the monitoring and mapping of the nervous system during surgery. IONM is utilized during ENT (head & neck), neurosurgical, orthopedic, peripheral nerve, and vascular surgeries that involve significant risk to the brain, spinal cord, and/or peripheral nerves. Various modalities are used to continuously collect and record data during the procedure to help prevent and minimize potential injury and reduce post-operative deficits. IONM is ordered by your surgeon and is dependent upon the type of procedure and your medical history.

ON THE DAY OF YOUR SURGERY

Real-time insights for better outcomes.

On the day of your surgery, an IONM technologist will:

  • Visit you in pre-op.

  • Explain the neuromonitoring process.

  • Answer any questions you or your family may have.

  • Collaborate with your surgical team to ensure the monitoring plan aligns with the procedure’s goals.

In the operating room, recording and stimulating electrodes are applied to your body to continuously record data from your nervous system. This data can help assess the functional integrity of the nervous system tissue or nerves being monitored. The surgeon can use this data and information for decision making during your procedure.

The neuromonitoring is typically supervised remotely through telemedicine technology by a neurologist or physician with additional training in neurophysiology.
